Work experience and interests:Dr Jack Meintjes has been involved in Occupational Medicine since 2000. His main area of expertise is “Pressure as Physical Risk Factor” and for most of his career he has been involved in diving and hyperbaric work. He has completed numerous international courses in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine and is now responsible for training in this discipline internationally. He is responsible for the Diving Medicine degree ( www.divingmedicine.co.za) and Hyperbaric Medicine degree ( www.hyperbaricmedicine.co.za) at the University of Stellenbosch. He has worked as Occupational Medicine Practitioner in the following industries:
- Maritime
- Diving & Hyperbaric work
- Mining (Alluvial Diamonds)
- Health (Hospitals)
- Military
He is also particularly interested in education and training in general occupational medicine and has been involved with the certificate course in Occupational Health Nursing and the Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch since 2004. Relevant affiliations:
