General Secretary

Involvement with SASOM:

Dr Frank Fox is the national general secretary of SASOM and also serves as member of the editorial board of Occupational Health Southern Africa.

He is involved in SASOM's scientific committees on audit, primary care, spirometry and driver guidelines.

Academic qualifications:

• MBChB(Rhod).,LRCP(Edin), LRCS(Edin). LRCS&P(Glas)MFOM(UK), DOH(Rand),
• Registered specialist in Occupational Medicine.
• Did the DOH at Wits in 1985 (Prof Tony Davies first class) while working on a mine in Botswana and has been a member of SASOM since then.

Work experience:

Spent 13 years in the mining industry before moving to Mondi in 1995, first in the Forests and Sawmilling, then Pulp, Paper and Packaging and Head Office.
